Shaping the AI in Health Trust Lab

Health Voices Victoria set out to build something the sector didn't yet have: a Trust Lab putting lived experience at the centre of how AI gets designed, adopted and governed in healthcare. Before any positioning work could start, the team needed a clear, shared understanding of what the Trust Lab actually was, who it needed to serve, and how to talk about it with credibility.

Our solution

ThinkHatch was engaged as an extension of the Health Voices Victoria (HVV) team to evolve the AI in Health Trust Lab from an idea to a fully fledged, impactful and financially sustainable initiative. We ran structured discovery sessions with the HVV team, reviewing the organisation’s existing strategy, proposals and marketing materials, completed desktop research, and joined with the Activation Group – bringing together clinicians, researchers, policy voices and people with lived experience of the health system. That discovery phase confirmed scope and priorities and gave the team a shared project plan to move on with confidence. It also gave us the grounding to do the work that followed: turning a genuinely new kind of initiative into a clear position with corresponding messaging that would land with every audience who needed to back it – government, industry, researchers, clinicians and health consumers alike.

ThinkHatch developed the Trust Lab’s positioning framework, brand narrative, objectives and audience architecture, working closely with the Activation Group to pressure-test the thinking against real sector need rather than internal assumption. Alongside the positioning work, also co-designed with the Activation Group, we drafted the Trust Lab’s service offering and proposed pricing framework, giving Health Voices Victoria a commercial shape to what had, until then, been a strong idea without a business model.
